Sophie's First Birthday

Sophie enjoys her birthday cupcake. This has been a busy birthday month for us. It started on the 6th with Scott's birthday, the 11th was Audrey's 3rd birthday, Mom's 97th birthday on the 22nd and ending with Sophie's on the 26th. What a blessing for us.

Mom's 97th Birthday

We gave Mom a party on Sunday for her 97th Birthday. We had it in the living room of Desert Point and she had 4 friends from California and two from Florida come for the party.
Pam and Dillis came from Florida and here she is showing Mom's great-granddaughter, Sophie, the birthday balloons.

Everyone seemed to have a good time and Mom was thrilled. We are so blessed to still have her.

Sedona

We have been having a great time in Sedona. Still some snow in places. These are some indian ruins we could see from the Loy Canyon trail. We are much father from these ruins than it looks (great zoom lens).

Peralta Canyon

On our way to Sedona we stopped and hiked Peralta Canyon. This is the view from the saddle of Weavers Needle. It was a hard hike, very poor footing but worth the view.
This was an interesting sight on the way up to the top.

Still snow at the saddle.

More Snow????

We have been home for a week catching up on things and got up this morning to a half and inch of snow in the backyard, more in the local mountains. We leave tomorrow for Sedona where they got 2 to 3 inches of snow but it looks like it will be a good week for hiking. We have really seen the snow this winter.

8 Feet Of Snow

The snow started on Tuesday night and by the time we left on Saturday morning we had had 8 feet of snow. After digging the two cars out we did not have any trouble driving out and got everyone to the Reno airport on time and then Andy and I drove home. We stopped Saturday night in Vegas and got to have dinner with our friends Dick and Barb Muhlhauser. It even snowed driving through Kingman on Sunday morning.

Another White Out

We have had 4 feet of snow so far (maybe more). We did go out this morning and skiied for a couple of hours before it got too deep. Scott said that this was the second time (including yesterday) that he had to quit due to safety reasons (he could not see). After lunch Granddaddy and Karin took Audrey put to play. It is hard to make a snow angel in four feet of fresh powder. We hope we will be able to get out Saturday morning.
