Snow Day

A huge storm came in Tuesday night after a beautiful sunny day on Tuesday. We did not ski today but Scott took out his snowboard and said that it was so thick that he just had to go straight down the mountain (no turns) in order to get through the deep powder snow. We took Audrey out about noon to make snow angels. As you can see it was deep.

Next generation learns to ski

We are up at Lake Tahoe with Scott and family and Karin's parents, Steve and Randa. Here are Scott, Karin and baby Sophie getting ready to go sledding on Sunday afternoon. On Monday afternoon we took Audrey up on skis for a short lesson. She did really well for her first time.

Ice in Arizona

Compared to the rest of the country we have nothing, but for us this is something we never see. We are suppose to have a 100 year record low for the high temperature today. Even with the fountain running it froze.

Last days for playing with the train

The engineers are getting in their last days of playing with the train. It needs to come down because we will be having company and need to use bed in that room. It has been lots of fun and they will look forward to it going up again.

Wildlife in the front yard.

After the shooting tragedy on Saturday, Tucson is somewhat getting back to normal. We went to a prayer vigil at our church last night to pray for all of the victims. Today, Andy took the Christmas lights down in the front yard. We did not have time to do it before we left. This guy kept an eye on Andy the whole time.

Another Beautiful Ski Day

It has gotten warmer each day, but still near freezing up at the top. We have had the best snow conditions for skiing that we have had in years. We have had a great trip and lots of super skiing.

Northstar at Tahoe

We flew up to Reno/Tahoe on Monday for a week of skiing. They have had lots of snow and it is cold so the conditions are great. When I got up this morning the temperature was 16 degrees but we had sun all day. In the morning the clouds were covering the valley as you can see behind Andy as we start down the Plunge.
We stopped to take this picture of the snow as we went down the "woods" our favorite run before lunch.
