Hiking in North Georgia Mountains

We went to Tennessee one day to hike along the stream where the Olympic Whitewater competition was held. There is a controlled release but the water was low when we were there.

This is part of Amacola Falls (throught to be the highest falls in the East). We were able to climb up along the falls. This Georgia State Park is the start of the Applachian Trail.

North Georgia Mountains

The day after the party we went to visit Eden Plantation. It was built in the 1890's and was restored in the 1930's. It was given to the state of Florida in the 60's. It isw a beautiful place to visit. This is Willie, Carol, Pam & Dillis and the two babies, Zack and Emmy.

Monday we moved on to the North Georgia Mountains and this is the view from the beautiful cabin that we have there.

Dillis' Birthday Party

Thr main reason for this trip was Dillis' birthday. As usual, Dillis got a unique gift from Tom Barker.
It was a great party, lots fun and the guys had fun visiting with lots of the old work folks.

Florida

We are in the Fort Walton Beach area of the Florida panhandle for Dillis Frazier's birthday. We got this picture of the heron at Bayside where we went to dinner. We are staying in a beautiful beach house.

Tom, Marilyn, Dillis, Andy and I went biking today from Bib Daddy's to Seaside.

Sedona

We have spent a wonderful week in Sedona, hiking and having a little down time. We have had so much snow and rain this year that all of the streams are really running high as you can see. Reilly loves it. Even hikes that usually do not have water had it this year.

This is the view from our condo. It was a great spot to celebrate Andy's birthday.

Watchtower at the Grand Canyon

Sunday we drove to the far East End of the Grand Canyon South Rim to see the Watchtower. We had never been there before, we had see it when we rafted the Canyon but wanted to see it in person. It was very interesting. It was built by Mary Coulter who had done so many of the Canyon buildings.

As you can see there is still snow around the rim.

Spring in Arizona

Andy and I are on our way up to Sedona for a week of relaxation and hiking. We decided to stop by the Lost Dutchman State Park because we heard that the wildflowers were great. They did not exagerate. We had a great hike up to the top of a ridge in the park and really enjoyed the views. We had never been here before.

We also went to Bartlett Lake (near Cave Creek) for the same reason and were not disappointed.
