Back at Lake Tahoe

We are back for another week of skiing at Northstar. It was a perfect day today but as you can see by the clouds coming in we are expecting snow tonight and tomorrow morning. This is the view from the top of the mountain looking west toward the lake.
The trees at the top of the mountain are still loaded with snow from the last storm and are beautiful.

Winds in Tucson

Thursday night we got the tail end of the storms that have been hitting California. At about 8pm we had a micro burst hit us with the resulting damage. This was one of my favorite trees because I looked at it from my second story office. We also a lot of roof damage and other broken tree limbs, but all in all we did fine. We will just have to plant another one.

Northstar-at-Tahoe

We are spending the first week of the year skiing at Tahoe. You will notice that we have finally broken down and purchased helmets. We decided that we could not ask the grandkids to wear them if we were not. They are surprising comfortable and keep your ears warm.

As you can see this is a perfect week to be skiing. The weather is great and Andy took this picture at about 10am and the slopes are nearly empty.

Christmas Eve at the Fiore's

What a blessing it is to have Mom at 95 to celebrate with us and great-granddaughter, Audrey. She has 7 great-grandchildren and one more on the way. Scott & Karin will have a little sister for Audrey next April.

Xmas with Jim & family

Jim, Heather, Cole & Mackenzie came over the weekend before Christmas to celebrate. We had a wonderful time making cookies and going to the Children's Museum with all of the grandkids. Mackenzie and Audrey had fun playing together.

December in Sedona

We started out December by spending 4 days in Sedona. The weather was just perfect for hiking. This is the view from the top of the Thomas Point Trail that goes from Oak Creek Canyon to the top of the rim.
This is "Rabbit Ears", which is back of the "Courthouse". We have hiked to a overlook of this area before, but this was a new hike to the base of the structure. We are working on completing our book of 130 hikes in Sedona. We are up to almost 100 of them so we have a way to go.
