Day 4 & 5 Katy Trail

The high mark I am pointing to is one of the flood marks in past years.  Where I am standing is probably 12 feet above the river.
The scenery along the river is beautiful.
Just one of the neat farms along the way.
Thursday night was spent in a B & B in Hermann.
This is where we had dinner last night.  Tonight we arrived in Augusta.  200 plus miles under our belt.

Day 3 of bike trip

We are on day three of our Katy Trail trip.  Day two was just Andy and I from Sedalia to Rocheport (50 miles) Wow..... This was the only tunnel on the Katy trail for the train.  You come into Rocheport right after passing through the tunnel.
The Frazier's joined us last night at Rocheport.  Here we are at the end of today's ride at Jefferson City.  Except we had to ride 3 more miles to the hotel.
Jefferson City is the capitol of the state.

Biking the Katy Trail

Saturday we flew into St. Louis for our Katy Trail trip.  Sunday morning we drove down to see the Arch.  We then were picked up for the 4 1/2 hour drive to the end of the trail in Clinton.
Monday morning we started out on our 40 mile ride to Sedilia
The weather was perfect and the ride was beautiful.

Monsoon flooding

These pictures do not do justice to the amount of water that was coming down the wash behind the house.  We had 4 1/2 inches of rain today.  When we would open the back door the sound of the water rushing down the wash was a roar.
